What is Slurry Surfacing and why should I use it?

Slurry Surfacing is a combination of, emulsified asphalt, crushed rock and cement, mixed onsite and applied with specialized equipment, forming a thick, tough, attractive durable asphalt overlay that:

  • Resurfaces your old pavement with a 1/4" to 1/2" black-textured surface, in a single pass.
  • Lasts up to 10 Years on parking lots and 7 Years on high traffic roads.
  • Typically costs less than half the price of a traditional asphalt overlay.
  • Protects the pavement from oxidation and deterioration, caused by harmful UV rays.
  • Seals the surface to protect it from moisture penetration and the freeze thaw cycle.
  • New surface is all-weather, dust-free, and non-bleeding.
  • Tapers to meet existing surfaces provides a minimum loss of curb height
  • No need for - asphalt milling, manhole or other structure adjustments.
  • Minimal down time, pavement is typically ready for use just hours after installation.
  • Non slip surface provides excellent traction, skid resistance and road handling.
  • Fills and covers - alligatored areas, cracks, pits, voids, rough areas, and small holes.

No surface is permanent - even the best of surfaces are subject to wear and tear caused by time, weather, and traffic. The installation of Slurry Surfacing will significantly extend the life of your existing pavement by providing a new wearing surface. Slurry surfacing is today's choice in providing highly durable, low-cost paving/resurfacing.

Slurry surfacing is used extensively throughout the world on - Public roads, Highways, Airport runways, Parking lots and a multitude of other paved surfaces. Local, State, and Federal agencies - including City and County road crews, the Department of Transportation and the US Military - have a growing and ongoing commitment to the use of slurry in their resurfacing programs, attesting to its effectiveness and economy.

Slurry Surfacing Types

aggregateaggregate

Type I - Fine aggregate used for maximum crack penetration and sealing in low density/low traffic areas.

Type II - General aggregate is the most commonly used aggregate. It is used for lower to moderate traffic areas.

Type III - Course aggregate used for very heavy traffic loads. Helps correct certain surface conditions.
